Can the wings of your longing fly off in the breeze
To the seas and the skies of the far Hebrides
Can one scrub out the urban, its screech and the roar
To lie quiet to the hiss of the waves on the shore.

Of particular interest are the vast white sands at LuskentyreHuishenish and Northton, and the Standing Stones of Callanish on Lewis. Game fishing can be arranged through either the Harris Hotel in Tarbert or the Rodel Hotel on the South of Harris, both of which have their own lochs and rivers. Amhunsuidhe Castle, west of Tarbert on the road to Huishenish (itself well worth a visit), has some excellent Sea Trout fishing. There is a notice board in Strome, and a map in the entrance hall, with further suggestions of places worth a visit.
